This listing is for a Fire King Anchor Hocking Vintage Milk Glass Coffee Mug “Mother Put the Coffee Pot On.” It is in good used condition with some staining on the bottom (may come off).
This mug was used in advertising for Richard Bennett Furniture in Indianapolis, Indiana. In the 1950’s, Richard sponsored a late night TV show and Mr Bennett would do commercials for the show. On the final spot, he would always say, “Mother, Put the Coffee Pot on” to signal she would be coming home soon.
This would make a great addition to your collection and is a rare piece.
